Mainly for the immense intellect, potential and perseverance we have and the heights we have reached from our very humble Stone Age beginnings and next for our equally immense talent to self destruct.
Nevertheless, our race possesses such diverse capabilities with such progressive, adaptable talents.
Any form of art , be it painting, poetry, writing , music or dance,no one can teach you the extent or limits of your creativity. It is a potential you alone have to explore and discover.
I have taught myself to paint. It has taken me years of trial & error (combined with a lot of frustration and stubborn perseverance ) to discover and understand the various mediums ,tools and methods that I am comfortable with and I Continue to learn with every piece of art.
When I sit down to paint , my mind is as blank as the Canvas in front of me. But when I pick up the knife, the images form in my head, as naturally as the poems and stories that play in my head and which seem to shape each piece that I create. Some of my paintings have been inspired by my travels and the poets and authors I have read. Others come from a much closer emotion, such as the memory of being told a story by my father as a child.
In this book, apart from a few of my own short stories and poems, I have compiled a collection of quotes, poems and stanzas from various authors who have inspired & moulded me from a very young age.
My work reflect my beliefs on life, religion, love and humanity and the influence the great thinkers and artists of the world have had on me. And besides these great minds, is the incredible foundation my late father had laid for us. My world is more beautiful because of these experiences and it is my privilege to share them with you.
